Thursday, February 14, 2019 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Erie on February 8, 1953, son of the late Oiva Arthur and Kristi Inne Paavola.

Tom joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in North Dakota, Alaska, California, Florida, Crete and Germany. After retiring from the Air Force, he came back to Erie and managed the Hearthside Rest Pet Cemetery.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Kathy

She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Linda is preceded in death by her father Claude, father and mother-in-law John and Letha Szkotnicki, and sister-in-law Jewel Wood. Linda is survived by her husband Tom Szkotnicki, sons Lee (Courtney) and Gregory (Lindsey) and two grandchildren Sydney and Thomas Szkotnicki. She is further survived by her sister Claudia Pratt Wiencek, her brother Jay Pratt (Laura), brother-in-laws John (Linda), Mike, sister-in-laws Mary Stone (Fran), and Susan. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also mourn her loss. Services will be private. Donations may be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
